I dont want a state religion either.  There are denoms out there that think people shouldnt dance for crying out loud, or drink alcohol at all - NONE of which is found in the bible, BTW.

I think the same thing more about gay marriage, especially with the whole fiasco in Maine.

But I dont really think it would damper religion.  I dunno.

Also look in the past 250 years. Nearly every major war had to do with religion in some way/shape/form
